The Automation Group, Inc is part of the Oregon Association of Water Utilities. OAWU is
a nonprofit, independent association of water and wastewater utilities.
OAWU was formed in 1977 to represent water utilities' interests in the
state legislature and provide onsite technical assistance. OAWU is a
state affiliate of the National Rural Water Association. NRWA is one of
America's largest and strongest voices for rural and small systems,
representing over 26,000 water and wastewater members.
OAWU currently has 455 regular members, 97 associate
members, and 153 individual members. The membership consists of public
and private water and wastewater systems such as municipalities,
associations, districts, mobile home parks, schools, industry, etc. OAWU
is governed by a board of 13 directors elected from the membership
serving three year terms.
Being part of the OAWU helps us to strengthen our relationships with municipalities, as well as keeping abreast of changes in the industry.
"The City of Depoe Bay has worked with the Automation Group throughout the years. As everyone knows who has been through a big wastewater plant improvement project, you have a few bugs to workout during start up and operations. Though the Automation Group did not install the controls and instrumentation, they have been a continuous help to fix problems and brainstorm to make the City's plant run smoother, more control of process and staying within budget restraints. The City has now hired them to completely replace the control system and re-program the PLC at the city's water plant. I have found them easy to work with, and if we have a emergency they will make sure we are contacted and set up a service call."
